Ars moriendi working group at the ARS autumn conference
On December 2-3, 2025, the Academic Folklore Society (ARS) autumn conference will be held at the Estonian Literary Museum (Vanemuise 42, Tartu), celebrating the 75th birthday of folklorist Anu Korb and the 100th birthday of the ARS. The theme of the conference is the ethics of human research in the humanities, and interesting presentations and discussions are expected, including presentations and participation by members of the Ars Moriendi 2030 working group. The roundtable introduced research projects related to health communication and discussed opportunities for cooperation. The network's future strategy was also agreed upon.
On November 11, ARS Moriendi working group members Piret Paal and Jandra Sule participated in the first meeting of the Health Communication Network Roundtable. The creation and development of the network is being supported by the Ministry of Education and Research’s “Estonian Language and Culture in the Digital Age” project “Meaning Creation in Social Media: Health and Folk Thought” (EKKD-TA32). The goal of the network is to promote cooperation and information exchange between different academic disciplines, research and application institutions in order to raise the profile of Estonian health communication.
